Mr. David F. Pankey, 46, departed this life at Forsyth Medical Center on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 following a brave battle with cancer. His parents were the late Catherine M. and Archie D. Pankey.

He was born in Forsyth County, NC on June 20, 1969. Mr. Pankey was a 1988 graduate of Mount Tabor High School. And following honorable service for his country in the United States Navy, he was discharged in 1992.

He leaves to mourn his son, Dashawn Foster; one brother, Will L. Hughes, of Raleigh, NC; one sister, Beverly Carnes of Charlotte, NC; two nieces and one nephew; three uncles: Michael Raimer, Roy Raimer, and Haywood (Dorothy) McCarthy; a devoted aunt, Dorothy "Peggy" Bell; three aunts: Linda Pert, Brenda Raimer and Seymone Raimer and his cousin, Brian Pankey.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, June 11, 2016 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
