Mr. David Lee Eldridge Sr., 83, answered the call and exchanged his earthly home for his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 4, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on February 9, 1936 to the late Luther and Ada Bell Eldridge. David attended Carver High School. He worked for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for 30 years. He founded Eldridge Lawn Care and acted as groundskeeper for his church, Bethania AME Zion Church, where he was a faithful member and served on the Senior Usher Board. He was a member of Red Rock Lodge #809. Left to cherish their memories of him are his six children: Veronica (George) Trotter, David L. Eldridge, Jr., Doris Marie (Rico) Santos, Darryl Eldridge, Denise Eldridge (Wiseman Dobson, Jr.) and Melinda Eldridge; his twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two special sisters-in-law: Hannah Eldridge and Elizabeth Speas; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Bethania AME Zion Church. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment in church cemetery.
