Darryl L.
Tatum
d. Jul 24, 2022
Darryl Lee Tatum was born to Opal Mae Trout and Levester C. Tatum in Milwaukee, WI in 1969. Darryl was the youngest of their four children.
Darryl lived a wonderful life! He attended elementary, middle and high school in Milwaukee. He was very smart, as evidenced by his full four-year academic scholarship to Iowa State University, where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He went on to receive a full fellowship to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. While at Chapel Hill, Darryl also spent a semester abroad studying in Paris, France.
Darryl held several professional Marketing positions with major corporations including Andersen Consulting, Philip Morris USA, RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company,
Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company and Red-Letter Marketing. His career afforded him the opportunity to travel, and to manage many multi-million-dollar projects. Darryl's professional career also led him to live many places throughout the US including Minneapolis, MN; New York City, NY; Santa Fe, NM; Ft. Lauderdale, FL
and Winston-Salem, NC.
Darryl left his career early and moved back to North Carolina to care for our father whose health began to fail. After our father passed, Darryl became a full-time caregiver for our mother. He also shared of himself to help other family members in whatever way possible. We will all be forever grateful for everything
he did for us all.
Darryl was loved by many people. He could always make you laugh, he loved to dance and was just plain fun to be around. He was also a very talented musician, pianist and singer, and participated in the music worship programs at the churches he attended. Being with him was always an adventure!
Darryl will be missed by a host of family and friends. We pray he will rest in peace.
A memorial service for Mr. Tatum will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 24. 2022 at New Story Church, 1401 Trademart Boulevard, Winston-Salem,
North Carolina, 27127.
