Darren Lee Smith was born September 6, 1970 to Reverend Bobby L. Smith and the late Wilma Stewart Smith. He transitioned to his heavenly home on Monday, January 28, 2019 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

Darren was a 1988 graduate of West Forsyth High School, Winston-Salem, NC and he served in the United States Marine Corps.

He was predeceased in death by his mother: Wilma Smith; brother: Arnold B. Smith; maternal grandparents: Vance and Hester Stewart and paternal grandparents: David and Eula Smith.

Darren leaves to cherish his memories his parents: Reverend Bobby L. and Geraldine Smith, Winston-Salem, NC; wife: Traci Johnson Smith, Auburn, AL; children: daughter: Kayla Smith; son: Kirston Wilson along with their mother Erica Wilson all of Advance, NC. Brandon Rogers, Santerona Rogers, Monqueivus (Briana) Rogers, D'aundra Rogers, Auburn, AL.; grandchildren: Kaden Hollis, Frank Grant, Auburn, AL; brothers: Franklin Darnell (Tina) Smith, Winston-Salem, NC and Johnny (Tracy) Ingram, Hampton, GA; sisters: Linda (Daryl) Lewis, Decatur, GA, Karen (Warren) Williams, Alexandria, VA; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Goler Memorial AME Zion Church. The family will greet friends at 12:00 PM. Interment will be in Benbow Chapel AME Zion Church cemetery in East Bend, NC.
