Claudette Lavern McGill Keaton was born on May 27, 1947 to the late Daniel C. McGill and Viola Black McGill in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Mrs. Claudette graduated from Paisley High School in 1961.

She was married to Charlie William Joseph Keaton, Sr. (Joe) for forty-eight years, and had two children Lisa K. Roach (James) and Charlie William Keaton Jr.

Claudette became a licensed nurse in 1971, and worked for North Carolina Baptist Hospital in the NIC unit for forty-eight years. Claudette loved her babies and received countless awards for going over and above the call of duty to take care of her patients and parents.

Mrs. Claudette was preceded in death by both parents; her siblings, Sandra McGill, Patricia McGill, Daniel McGill Jr. (Dan Jr.), Domenica McGill, and Brenda Marshall; and her only grandson, Abdul Omosheni "Sheni" Mabifa.

She is survived by her oldest sister, Sadie Ervin of Ohio; her only granddaughter, Zaenab Mabifa; also, brothers and sisters in law, as well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Claudette's radiant smile, soothing demeanor, and gentle heart will be missed. May we all be so blessed to meet her again when God calls us home.

Public viewing will be from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Monday, July 14, 2025 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service Tuesday, July 15, 2025, 12:320 PM, at Hickory Grove AME Zion Church 3791 Harper Road, Clemmons, North Carolina 27012. Family visitation 12:00 PM. Interment in Hickory Grove AME Zion Church Cemetery.
