Mrs. Christina Denise Miller was born on May 22, 1971 to Jesse Groce and Patricia Jackson Groce in Philadelphia, PA. She attended the local public schools and was a 1991 graduate of Martin Luther King High School. She furthered her education at Hartford Community College in Belair, MD where she achieved certification in Medical Office Technology, Customer Support Center and Technical Training, and Human Resource Management. She additionally received certification in Electronic Medical Records from Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem, NC. Professionally, Christina held position in various roles while residing in Maryland. They included KMart Department Store, Proctor and Gamble, GAP Distribution Center and Rite-Aid Customer Support Center. After she and her family relocated to Winston-Salem, NC, she held position in Human Resource at HanesBrands Corporate Headquarters until her health declined. She was a nurturing mother to all of her children, both biological and extended. She was always encouraging, taking care of those she loved. She had a loving heart. She told it like it was and spoke her mind. She loved making music, rapping, singing, doing art, going to movies and museums. Her two favorite places were the casinos and the beach. Christina passed away on April 16, 2023 at Duke University Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Dedric Miller; five children: Johntae, Terrence Rorie, Chrishanna (Otis) Brown, Diamond Cannon, Cherrish Cannon; her parents, Jesse and Patricia Groce; step children: Shawade Cannon, Thresa (Attronia) Cole, Brionna and Julisa Miller; grandchildren: Jonae and Jaedon Fisher, Oasis, Osias, Osier and Osyraha Brown; stepgrandchildren: Ayden, Akhemi and Asia'h; two brothers: Jesse and James Groce; eight sisters-in-law: Anita Dieter, Wanda, Doris, Shawn, Alissa and Jessica; three brothers-in-law: Tony, Stacey, and Brian; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, April 27, 2023 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Mrs. Miller will be publicly viewed on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 12:00 PM ~ 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
