Charlene Denise Jones was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on August 4, 1959 to Wyvonia Jones and Charlie Clayton. She passed away on January 30, 2022.

She received her formal education at Lawrence District 55 School in Lawrence, South Carolina. For several years she provided care for many patients in her employment as a nursing aide. She attended St. James AME Church. She loved being in worship, and she especially loved good preaching and singing.

Those who knew her well knew she loved to cook, shop, and spend quality time with her grandchildren and her daughter.

Those who preceded her in death include: her daughter, Characara Jones; her parents; brothers, James Jones, Donald Jones; and sister, Wyomia Jones Wright.

Those who remain to mourn her passing but cherish her memory include: her daughter, Antonia Denise (Kenya) Shear-Jones; grandchildren, Amonte Jones, Aniyah Jones, Alexis Rorie; great grandchild, Amonte Jones, Jr.; brothers Robert (Lillie Bell) Jones, Charles Benard (Veilka )Jones; sisters, Cheryl Jones Gray, Rhonda Elaine Jones, and Deborah Love (Brady) Bryant; loving sister, Mattie Green; special friends, Andrean Jarrett-Ray and Patricia Phillips; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

There will be no public viewing for Ms. Jones. Service will be private.
