Carolyn Regina Fulp Hayes, the daughter of Shirley Fulp and Richard Fulp, Sr., was born June 16, 1962 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After several years of declining health, she completed her earthly assignments on December 30, 2025.

She attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and was a graduate of North Forsyth High School. After graduation, she applied her clerical skills and desire to be of assistance to others by securing employment at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home as a receptionist; Oak Summit Rehabilitation (now Oak Forest); as a unit secretary; Winston-Salem Rehabilitation as an administrative assistant/staffing; and Silas Creek Manor as an administrative assistant. Carolyn also worked for Aramark (Wake Forest Baptist University) in the Bakery Department.

Although often confined to home, she found joy in working crossword puzzles, watching continuous episodes of Law & Order, and cheering on her favorite NFL team, the Pittsburg Steelers.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her grandparents: maternal, Eugene and Julia Mitchell; paternal, Robert and Anna Fulp; aunts, Helen Thomas and Patricia Mitchell; uncles, Robert Fulp, Jr. and Larry Fulp.

She is survived by her children: son, Justin Hayes and daughter, Janeah Hayes; grandchildren, Justyce Hayes and Stephon McDowell, Jr.; her father, Richard Fulp, Sr. and mother, Shirley Mitchell Fulp; sister, Tracey Fulp; brother, Richard Fulp, Jr.; aunts, Edith McLaurin, Margie Cunningham and Sarah Salaam; uncles, Eugene Mitchell, Harry Mitchell, Pas-tor John Mitchell, Wayne Mitchell, Kenneth Mitchell and Paul Mitchell; special friends, Shantina James, Mary Crowell, Sharon Thompson, Nathaniel Hayes, Clara Yountz; cousin, Carla Szajlai; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends thirty-minutes prior to service.
