Mr. Carl Daniel Lewis, 65, passed away while resting and transitioned into heaven on June 27, 2018. Carl was born on July 19, 1952 to the late Oscar Lewis and Catherine (Adams) Lewis in Winston-Salem.

Carl was a graduate of Atkins High School and furthered his education at Winston-Salem State University as a Psychology major receiving a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science degree in 1998. In the Air Force he was a procurement specialist. After leaving the military to raise his son, Carl worked for a variety of companies including RJ Reynolds, Roses and Forsyth Hospital.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his siblings, Doretha (Adams) Ennels and Barbara (Lewis) Mitchell; close niece, Le'Isha Adams. He is survived by his son Demonique L. Lewis "Nick" (Yolanda); siblings, Oscar Lewis Jr. (Edna), Robert L. Lewis (Janice), Donald R. Lewis (Yvonne), James M. Lewis and Eleanor Gibson; four grandchildren, Andrew, Kezia, Stephen and Jadon; devoted nieces, Jacqueline Lipscomb (Ernest Hill), Sonetta Davis (Turner); close nephew, Eddie Cruz (Tasha); and many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Family will greet friends one half hour prior to the service. Burial will be a private service at Salisbury National Cemetery.
