Calvin L.
Jamison
Oct 23, 1967 — Jun 16, 2025
Mr. Calvin Lamont Jamison, affectionately known as "Wink Dog" by friends and "Tiny" by his family peacefully departed this life in his sleep on June 16, 2025. Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on October 23, 1967, Calvin was the beloved son of the late Sims Albert Jamison and Alverta Jamison.
A proud graduate of North Forsyth High School, Calvin was known for his warm spirit, sharp wit, and zest for life. He truly embodied joy, bringing light to every room with his smile, dance moves, and unforgettable laugh. Calvin loved playing spades, the Pittsburgh Steelers singing his favorite songs, dancing with family and friends, and simply enjoying life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents; his two brothers, Albert "Sweetpea" Jamison and Samuel "Sammy" Jamison; his sister Gloria "Van" Jamison; and his cherished nephew, Jayden Jamison.
Calvin leaves to celebrate his life and legacy: His son, Dewon Jamison and his longtime companion Brittany Hampton; his daughter, Katina Allen and her husband Greg Allen. A host of beloved grandchildren; Janiya, Dewon, Deshaun, Jaylen Jamison, and Khiley, (Jamari), and (Jaden) Allen; one brother, Willie (Donna) Jamison; four sisters: Mary (James) Weeks , Dorothy Jamison, Michelle Jamison, and Karya Razzak; a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; two aunts, and cousins who loved him deeply. Calvin also leaves behind a circle of lifelong friends, including Fred Wilson, the Scott family, the Billings family, CW and his cherished Cherryview family all of whom he held close to his heart. His life was a testimony of love, laughter, and resilience—
a spirit that cannot be forgotten and a soul that will forever be missed.
Message from both children:
"Known to his children as "my daddy/dad" and many others as "Wink Dog!" If you knew him then you knew he was such a genuine person with a loving heart. This man would take the shirt off his back to give to someone without. He was such a humble man. We are truly blessed with good memories growing up. Making a tent in the backyard and telling us crazy stories he would make up, walking through Cherryview and feeling safe, etc. We are so grateful he got the chance to meet all 7 of his grandkids and spend time with them. We wish we had more time together. Rest in Paradise!"
Calvin requested to be cremated with no formal service. His ashes will be scattered privately at a location of his choosing. Please contact the family for memorial details.
