Brenda Lee Smith was born to the late Oscar & Dorothy Benn in Chicago, Illinois on December 22, 1962. She departed this life on Saturday, September 17, 2022.

Brenda moved to Winston-Salem at an early age and matriculated through the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. She graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1981. She later earned her Associate Degree from Miller-Mott Business College in Winston-Salem. She was previously employed by U.S. Airways.

She professed her faith at an early age and was a former member of Union Baptist Church.

Brenda was always laughing and smiling. She loved to dance and have a good time, especially when she was watching sports. Her favorite teams were Dallas Cowboys Football Team and Los Angeles Lakers Basketball Team.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Brittany (Kendra) Berry; grandson, Kaleb Berry; sister, Olivia (Darrell) Howell; brothers, Aldeen (Paulette) Smith and Oscar Smith; nieces Demetrice Howell and Arlethia (Timothy) Hailstock; best friend, Millicent Smith; many other cousins and friends.

A public viewing will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral home, 727 Patterson Avenue Winston-Salem, NC. The family visitation will be on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the service following at 2:00 p.m.
