Mrs. Betty Little Witherspoon was born March 5, 1941, in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Paul and Elizabeth Little. She quietly slipped away to her eternal home on Friday, January 12th, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center in Concord, NC following an extended period of illness.

She graduated from Atkins High School. She earned a Bachelors Degree from Winston Salem State University and a Masters Degree from NC A&T University, both in Early Childhood Education. She worked as a teacher in various cities before returning to Winston-Salem where she ultimately retired. She eventually moved to Charlotte, NC with her daughter, son in-law, and grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters, Angela Holt Burgess (Stacy) and Monique P. Holt; three grandchildren, Marquel Holt, Madison Burgess, and Morgan Burgess; one brother, Bobby R. Little; two sisters, Minnie L. Stephens (Tyro) and Pamela L. Winn (Booker); a very special Aunt, Hazel C. Morton; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Golder S. Witherspoon; a sister, Paulette L. Burch, and a brother, Danny R. Little. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
