Mrs. Betty E. Gray, 77, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 following a brief period of illness. She was born on February 29, 1940 to the late Daniel and Emma Allen Eldridge in Winston-Salem, NC.

Deaconess Gray was a faithful member of Union Chapel Baptist Church where she served as President of Nurses Board, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, as well as the Nursery Board. Mrs. Gray held various jobs outside the home but her most rewarding job was that of wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gray was predeceased by three sisters and four brothers. Her survivors include her husband: Deacon Kie A. Gray, Sr.; four children: Pamela Gray-Flood (Nathalia), Kie Gray, Jr. (Karen), Bertrand Gray, Sr. (Katrina), and Tamah Gray-Williams (Juan); seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Union Chapel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
