Mrs. Bennie Monroe Martin Holmes AKA "Ben" or "Bennie Monroe", was born March 22, 1962 in Winston-Salem, NC. She was the daughter of Emma Martin and Monroe Martin, Jr.

She attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and graduated from West Forsyth High School. A dedicated mother and home-maker, she loved to dance. Next to loving her family, she loved watching football and always cheered for the NFL Dallas Cowboys.

On February 4, 2024, Bennie joined other family who preceded her in death including her husband, Willie Holmes, Jr. and her parents.

She is survived by her children: Sheena Martin, LaShawndra Martin, Isaiah Holmes, Ashley Holmes, Kinard Douthit (Demetrice); grandchildren: Imani and Ishana Burchette, MacKenzie Cuthbertson, Ché Geriah and Ché Malone, Jr., Isabel and Imri Holmes, Amirionna and Shane Graham; sisters, Sandra Martin, Annette Martin; brother-in-law, Alan Holmes (Mary); nieces, Keisha Martin, Tara Martin, Satara Martin and Brittany Holmes.

Funeral service 3:30 PM, Saturday, February 10, 2024 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The Family will greet friends thirty-minutes prior to service.
