Obituary

April Moses Houston, 49, was born April 14, 1972 to Joyce Moses Evans and Johnny Clayborn. April attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and graduated from Glenn High School. She was formerly employed at Walmart Supercenter and Horizons Residential Care Center.

She had a passion for babysitting and taking care of children. A loving caregiver, she helped raise children of several of her close friends. Her door was always open to friends or family in need and to anyone who wanted to have an enjoyable time through conversation or laughter.

April enjoyed being with family and friends whether it was on the phone, cruising the city, or being at different functions. She was the life of the party with her infectious laugh and comedic spirit. April was "Big Cuz" to some and "Lil' Cuz" to others. She was always ready at a moment's notice whenever her friends or family would call. April had many, many friends and was straightforward and real to all she met and knew. She will be cherished and missed by all those who knew her.

On June 4, 2021, April passed away in Winston-Salem, NC. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William and Josephine Moses; aunt, Noby Moses; and uncles, Anthony and William Moses, Jr.

Those who remain to cherish fond memories include her loving mother, Joyce Moses Evans; brother, John Clayborn, Jr.; stepchildren, Michael and Davoria Houston; aunt, Constance Moses; cousins, Sedrick Moses, Sidney Moses, Stacy (Santos) Toral, Kimberly Brinson, Monyell, Sam, and Samantha Gray, and Nathan and Natalie Cotton; several other family members and friends.
