Our dear and loving mother, Anne Starnes, sadly passed away on November 21, 2022, at the age of 78. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when needed. She was born on September 4, 1944 in Gastonia, NC to Elisha and Mamie Moses. She was one of six children.

Anne graduated valedictorian of her high school class at James Fenimore Cooper in Harlem, New York.

Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32, "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."

Anne was preceded in death by her husband Henry Starnes; mother, Mamie and father, Elisha Moses; sons, Sean and DeAndre Starnes; daughter, Shitedra Starnes; brothers, Elisha and Harold Moses; and sisters, Mamie Dean and Marion Hill.

She is survived by her four children, Eric Starnes (Tine), Darryl Starnes (Elanda), Natatia Starnes and Keisha Starnes; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grands; and two great great-grands; her sister, Flora Moses; her uncle, Edward Addison (Shirley); and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, December 1, 2022. The family will greet friends at 12 Noon. Public viewing will be held from 12PM until 6PM, Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Clark S. Brown Funeral Home. Interment in Parklawn Memorial Park.
