Mrs. Ann Johnson Thomas Joins was born August 6, 1944 Winston-Salem to the late Edward Johnson and Alice Mackey Johnson. Ann attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County schools (Atkins High School). She spent her professional career as a machine operator at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company. Ann retired after 30 years of service. Ann loved to read and was a great cook. She passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 following a period of illness. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frankie Bobby Joins, son, Rufus "Ricky" Thomas; her sister, Hazel Johnson; brothers: Edward Johnson, Jr., Joseph Johnson and Robert Johnson. She leaves to cherish their memories: her daughters: Janet Thomas, Priscilla Thomas and Chasity (Keith) Staley; grandchildren: Clarence McMillian, Sedric (Lonnie) McMillian, Brandon Thomas, Chonte (Curtis) Murphy, Alyssa Benston and Jessica (Ralph) Thomas; six step-grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister, Bessie Gray; brother, Narvell (Plush) Johnson; sister-in-law, Carolyn Johnson; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be private.
