Mr. Alex Devote Saunders was born on January 13, 1993 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the son of Chantia LaTasha Saunders. Alex passed away on May 24, 2025.

He attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and received his GED. He found his initial calling in the food industry and secured employment at several restaurants including: King's Crab Shack, Texas Roadhouse, Out West Steakhouse and In Demand. He also worked in security positions.

Playing pool and bowling were his favorite interactive hobbies. Additionally, his best spectator sport was watching his favorite NFL Philadelphia Eagles play any day of the week.

Alex was preceded in death by: his grandmother (who raised him), Gwendolyn Marie Saunders; grandfather, James Ray Monroe; and uncle, Darryl Saunders. He is survived by: his children, Marie Saunders, Zonnique Saunders, Xiomara Saunders, and Venita Saunders; his bonus children, Isaiah James and Darrien Moore; a brother, Michael Edwards; sisters, Asia Baines and India Baines; aunts, Brenda Thompson, Linda Thompson and Sophia Peck; uncle, Larry Saunders; nieces and nephews, Dion France, Desi, DJ, Yatesha Simms, Terry Lee Davis, Larry Saunders, Kristian Saunders, Bryon Peck, Chris Jackson; a cousin, Chris Jackson; Charlotte James (life-partner); and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be no public viewing of Mr. Saunders. Funeral service 12:00 PM, Saturday, June 7, 2025 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. The family will greet friends one-hour prior to service.
